Sometimes all you can use are plain 'ol HTML tags. For example WYSIWYG editors in content management systems mean you can't add classes to your headings, lists, blockquotes etc...

So when you can't (or don't want to) add classes to your elements you can use the content class as a container for styling the un-classed elements inside - elements like:

  • p
  • ul, ol, dl
  • h1 to h6
  • blockquote
  • em and strong
  • table (and tr th td)
